Abstract
It's our proposal for an interesting competition for developing new residential & healthcare premises as social spaces & services for the elderly people in Appignano, Macerata, central Italy. It's about a 5.000 sqm building complex in a 17.000 sqm of oudoor area in the countryside and hills. CONTINUE READING REPORT

The new project is charactrerized by 4 main elements, plus some external services spaces and a parking: the central building, the two services zones, the socialization and common activities' area and the residential spaces.
The outdoor area is conceived to be part of day-to-day life. In the space among the services' zones and the main building, a large socialization area, a kind of an urban square ("piazza"), acts as a catalyzator of the surroundings activities (social, reception, services, rest and comunication activities), making itself full of life and livable as for the protected zones and excellent views. Hall & reception services stand, together with care services and administration functions, in a building with a curved wave profile. Opened and transparent, comunicative and made for developing human relations, it has just one level and act as the very first interface between hosts and relatives/visitings.
A transversal simple volume on two levels distributes to residential buildings as a comb on two levels. The three residential wings are formed by a group of small flanked houses, with different colours, leaning out to some protected courtyards made of green slopes and trees. All suites are sheltered with a loggia, and have accessible en-suite toilet, two beds for lodging, possibility to personalize furnishings and some space for guests.
